"DSP Sahab" Joke by Harbhajan Singh Steals the Show Amid Siraj-Head Tension

Former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh provided a lighthearted perspective on the incident involving Mohammed Siraj and Travis Head during the second Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The Indian fast bowler had delivered a spirited send-off to the Australian batsman after Head scored 140 runs on Day 2 of the pink-ball Test in Adelaide. Following the match, there was an exchange of words between the two players, with Head asserting that he merely complimented Siraj by saying "well bowled."
However, prior to the commencement of play on Day 3, Siraj refuted Head's claim, accusing the Australian middle-order batsman of dishonesty. During a broadcast appearance for Star Sports, Siraj participated in an interview with Harbhajan.
Ultimately, Harbhajan offered a humorous piece of advice to Siraj, who has recently been appointed as the Deputy Superintendent of Police in his home state of Telangana.
“DSP saab, when he comes to Hyderabad to play in the IPL, make sure to apprehend him," Harbhajan jestingly suggested to Siraj, eliciting laughter from the latter.
“I am just joking. I wish you all the best," he added.
For the uninitiated, Travis Head plays for SunRisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Siraj accuses Head of lying
During a conversation with Harbhajan Singh, Mohammed Siraj asserted that Head never acknowledged his bowling with a 'well bowled' remark. He further accused the Australian batsman of dishonesty and misrepresentation.
"I relished the challenge of bowling to him; it was an engaging contest. He played well. Ultimately, as a bowler, when he strikes a six off one of your best deliveries, it ignites a fire within you, and your passion intensifies," Siraj remarked.
"I was merely celebrating, but his derogatory comments were visible on television. Initially, I remained silent. However, during the press conference, he made false statements—claiming he said 'well bowled' to me; that is untrue. I did not hear any such acknowledgment," he continued.
India suffered a ten-wicket defeat to Australia in the Adelaide Test. The Indian team struggled to put up a fight with the bat on Day 3, ultimately being dismissed for 175 in their second innings, which set Australia a target of 19 runs.
Usman Khawaja and Nathan McSweeney required only 3.2 overs to secure the victory for Australia, thereby leveling the five-match series.
