Additionally, it ranks as their third-lowest score in IPL history and the smallest total against KKR.
The match did not start well for CSK, as opener Devon Conway (12) was dismissed in the fourth over, followed by his partner Rachin Ravindra (4) in the fifth. Vijay Shankar managed to score 29 off 21 balls before being out in the 10th over, and Rahul Tripathi (16) fell on the last ball of the 11th over, leaving CSK struggling at 65/4.
Shivam Dube's entry at No. 5 offered a glimmer of hope for CSK, but he lacked support from his teammates. R Ashwin (1), Ravindra Jadeja (0), Deepak Hooda (0), and Dhoni (1) were dismissed in rapid succession. CSK's total of 103/9 is also the second-lowest team score recorded at the Chepauk, following RCB's all-out score of 70 in 2019. Furthermore, CSK lost six wickets to spinners, marking the highest number for them in any IPL innings.
