The third and final weekend of group-stage matches is imminent, with only a few days remaining. After two weeks and ten matches, there are emerging insights regarding the teams likely to advance to the semifinals on March 1. Currently, two teams have achieved victories in all three of their group stage matches, four teams have secured one win each, while one team has unfortunately lost all three matches. Out of the seven teams, six have only one match left to play, while one team has two matches remaining, which could potentially alter the current standings.

Results of Week 2 of CCL 2025

Day 3 of CCL 2025 took place at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on February 14. The opening match featured the Karnataka Bulldozers against the Chennai Rhinos, with the Bulldozers claiming victory by a comfortable margin of 8 wickets. The second match showcased the crowd-favourite Telugu Warriors facing off against the Bhojpuri Dabanggs. Initially, it appeared that Manoj Tiwari’s team was in control during the first ten overs. However, Akhil Akkineni dramatically shifted the momentum in the second over, ensuring that the Dabanggs fell short of their target despite it being relatively low.

Day 4 of CCL 2025 continued in Hyderabad, where the Bulldozers once again played a noon match, this time against the Mumbai Heroes. The Bulldozers set a tournament-high total in their first innings, bolstered by a century from Darling Krishna, securing their victory. Subsequently, the Telugu Warriors faced the Chennai Rhinos, but the strategy that had previously worked against the Dabanggs failed this time, resulting in the Dabanggs achieving their first win of the tournament.

On Day 5 of CCL 2025, the action shifted to Cuttack, where the Dabanggs suffered their second unexpected defeat, this time against the Punjab De Sher team. Following this, the defending champions took on the Mumbai Heroes in a match that, while not high-scoring, ultimately ended in favour of the Tigers.

What’s next at CCL 2025?

On February 22 and 23, all seven teams will converge in Surat, with four teams vying for the last two semi-final positions. The Bulldozers and Tigers currently lead the standings, each boasting three victories. The competition for the remaining spots will be fierce among the Chennai Rhinos, Telugu Warriors, Bhojpuri Dabanggs, and Punjab De Sher. Punjab De Sher has two matches left, and if they replicate their impressive performance against the Dabanggs, they could secure their first-ever semi-final appearance.

However, this is a challenging prospect, as Punjab De Sher will face the Karnataka Bulldozers next, a team that has been in exceptional form under the leadership of Kiccha Sudeep. Following that, they will compete against the Mumbai Heroes, who are seeking redemption after losing all three of their matches. Currently, Punjab De Sher occupies the fourth position based on net run rate, but this will likely change once all teams have completed four group-stage matches.

At this point, with three wins each, the Bulldozers and Tigers are confirmed semi-finalists. Their opponents will be determined on March 1. Will we witness a rematch of the 2024 final, with the Bulldozers seeking revenge against the Tigers? We shall see.
