1 month ago | 5 Views
The Heroes won the toss and opted to bat first, aiming to establish a target, with Saqib and Rajeev at the crease. Jammy Banerjee achieved the initial breakthrough by dismissing Rajeev, and he quickly followed this with the wicket of Samir Kochar on the very next delivery. Although the Tigers' all-rounder narrowly missed out on a hat-trick, Saqib and Shabir Ahluwalia worked to stabilize the innings. Unfortunately, by the fourth over, Shabir was dismissed after scoring just 8 runs. It then fell to Saqib and Navdeep to guide the Heroes towards a competitive total. However, the captain's innings was cut short, leaving Navdeep to contribute significantly with a score of 61 off 22 balls, helping the team reach a total of 113 for the loss of 6 wickets.

The Tigers faced an early challenge in their pursuit of the target when opener Bonny was dismissed. However, Jammy and captain Jisshu managed to stabilize the innings. Although the Tigers consistently lost wickets, they remained focused on the target. Despite Rahul scoring only 6 runs and Joy being dismissed for a duck, Yusuf contributed significantly with a score of 22 off 12 balls. In the final over, Navdeep found some success against the Tigers, but not before delivering several erratic balls that allowed the defending champions to surpass the Heroes' total, finishing at 116 for 8. Navdeep achieved a remarkable 5-wicket haul against the Tigers, including a hat trick in his final over.

In the second innings, however, Navdeep was unable to replicate his earlier performance, scoring only 15 runs. Following his dismissal, the Heroes found themselves in significant difficulty, losing a wicket approximately every 10 to 12 runs. While Sidhaant managed to score 15, Apoorva contributed 13, and Shabir added 12, the remaining players recorded single-digit scores. The Tigers allowed 11 extras, which aided the Heroes in reaching a final total of 88 runs for the loss of 8 wickets. The defending champions required 86 runs to secure victory.
