The eagerly awaited opening ceremony of IPL 2025 is set to occur at Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Saturday, promising to be a glamorous event. Renowned Bollywood figures such as Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Vicky Kaushal, and Shraddha Kapoor are anticipated to grace the occasion. Furthermore, the American pop band OneRepublic has been invited to perform.

A Glitzy Lineup for the IPL 2025 Opening Ceremony  

As per a source affiliated with the organizers, numerous Bollywood celebrities, including Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Sanjay Dutt, are likely to attend the IPL 2025 opening ceremony.

“Their attendance is expected to infuse the event with glamour and excitement. Shah Rukh is anticipated to be present since his team is competing in the opening match, while Salman may appear to promote his forthcoming film, Sikandar,” the source reveals.

The insider further indicates that the performances will feature a dynamic blend of exhilarating entertainment, stunning visuals, and enchanting music.

"Artists such as Shreya Ghoshal, Disha Patani, Karan Aujla, Arijit Singh, Shraddha Kapoor, and Varun Dhawan are slated to perform. Additionally, the pop band OneRepublic, who recently collaborated with Karan Aujla and Disha Patani on the track 'Tell Me,' has also been approached for a performance at the ceremony,” the source adds.

Other notable guests expected to attend, according to the insider, include Katrina Kaif, Priyanka Chopra, Triptii Dimri, Ananya Panday, Madhuri Dixit, Janhvi Kapoor, Urvashi Rautela, Pooja Hegde, Kareena Kapoor, Ayushmann Khurrana, and Sara Ali Khan.

About IPL 2025

The 18th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is set to begin on March 22, with the final match scheduled for May 25. This season will feature a total of 74 matches held at 13 different venues, including 12 double-header events. The inaugural match will see the defending champions, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), face off against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

The IPL 2025 will consist of 10 teams organized into two groups, following the format established in earlier seasons. The teams participating are: Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Capitals, Gujarat Titans, Kolkata Knight Riders, Lucknow Super Giants, Mumbai Indians, Punjab Kings, Rajasthan Royals, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, and Sunrisers Hyderabad. The final of the 2025 season will take place on May 25 at Eden Gardens, which will also host Qualifier 2 on May 23.
