India has successfully defended their title, clinching the U19 Women's T20 World Cup for the second time in a row on Sunday. Led by Niki Prasad, the team triumphed over South Africa by nine wickets, finishing with 52 balls to spare. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a cash prize of INR 5 crore for the winning team and support staff, headed by coach Nooshin Al Khadeer.

Several players shone brightly as India celebrated back-to-back victories in the U19 Women's T20 World Cup.

Gongadi Trisha emerged as the tournament's top run-scorer with 309 runs, earning both the Player of the Match and Player of the Tournament titles.

Spinners Vaishnavi Sharma and Aayushi Shukla led the wicket-takers, claiming 17 and 14 wickets, respectively.

India's wins in the inaugural ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup in 2023 and now in 2025 highlight the strength of the country's youth and grassroots cricket programs.

“Congratulations to our girls for retaining the U19 Women’s World Cup. They’ve had an outstanding campaign, remaining unbeaten throughout. We celebrated their achievements at the Naman Awards last night, and today they’ve made us all proud," said BCCI President Roger Binny in an official statement.

“This trophy showcases the growth of women’s cricket in India, and I’m thrilled to see every player excel in this tournament. I want to congratulate the entire team, coaches, and support staff for their amazing performance,” he added.

India clinched a lopsided victory in the final

India cruised to a straightforward win over South Africa, taking the match by nine wickets without breaking a sweat.

In the final, the Proteas were dismissed for just 82 runs, with Gongadi Trisha leading the charge with three wickets to her name.

Parunika Sisodia, Aayushi Shukla, and Vaishnavi Sharma each chipped in with two wickets.

When it came time to chase down 83 runs, Gongadi Trisha shone again, scoring an impressive 44 not out off 33 balls to secure the victory for India.
