An official from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) addressed the match-fixing allegations concerning the IPL franchise Rajasthan Royals during their group-stage match against Lucknow Super Giants on April 19. Following Rajasthan Royals' narrow defeat by 2 runs, where they failed to score 9 runs in the final over, Jaydeep Bihani, the convenor of the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) ad-hoc committee, accused the team of match-fixing. n a conversation with The Times of India, the BCCI official dismissed these allegations and stated that the RCA has been dissolved. He remarked, 'The RCA is currently dissolved.

An ad-hoc committee has been established, and with the upcoming elections, there is considerable drama as everyone seeks attention.' Furthermore, the official assured that the BCCI's anti-corruption unit is vigilantly monitoring IPL activities around the clock. 'The BCCI has an anti-corruption unit operating 24/7 to prevent any malicious elements from infiltrating the game.

These allegations are unfounded,' he emphasized. This response came after Rajasthan Royals submitted a strongly worded letter to the BCCI, contesting the RCA ad-hoc committee's claims of fixing.

In their correspondence, RR stated, 'The remarks made by the convenor lack any substantiation and only serve to create unnecessary controversy. They not only tarnish the reputation of the Royals but also that of Royal Multi Sport Private Limited (RMPL), the Rajasthan Sports Council, the BCCI, and the integrity of cricket itself.'

Ticket distribution main bone of contention between RR and RCA

The TOI report also mentioned that the reduced number of complimentary tickets this season may have led to the conflict between RR and RCA. Previously, RR had supplied 1800 complimentary tickets to RCA for its home games in Jaipur, but due to the dissolution of the association this year, the franchise only provided 1000-1200 tickets.

“At the beginning of the season, the BCCI provided us with a clear directive that given the RCA's dissolution, we would coordinate with the Rajasthan State Sports Council (RSSC) for all arrangements,” stated a RR insider.

“The dissatisfied member of the RCA ad-hoc committee and his associates are requesting an unreasonable amount of tickets, and we are not accommodating them. This is the primary cause of all this commotion,” they added.

RR also addressed Bihani's assertions regarding not allowing RCA to engage in matters concerning the franchise and the current season of IPL.

“In accordance with the contractual obligations and BCCI instructions, we are required to collaborate with the state association and the state government. RMPL has effectively and successfully accomplished this for the past 18 years. The BCCI has verified and approved that the RSSC holds the hosting rights for IPL matches in Jaipur. The franchise is working closely with the BCCI and RSSC under the direction and support of the State Government to guarantee a successful IPL season. ”
