
BCCI Announces ₹58 Crore Reward for India’s Champions Trophy Heroes, Extends Gratitude to Staff & Selectors

India triumphed over New Zealand to secure the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy, marking Rohit Sharma's second title as captain of the national team. The experienced opener also distinguished himself as the first and only captain to guide a team in every ICC tournament.
On Thursday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) revealed a substantial cash reward of ₹58 Crore for the Indian national team following their successful Champions Trophy campaign. This financial incentive is designated for the players, coaching and support staff, as well as the members of the Selection Committee.

In a recent statement, BCCI President Roger Binny remarked, “Securing consecutive ICC titles is a remarkable achievement, and this award acknowledges Team India’s commitment and excellence on the international stage. The cash prize serves as recognition for the extensive efforts made by everyone behind the scenes. This marks our second ICC Trophy in 2025, following our victory in the ICC U19 Women’s World Cup, underscoring the robust cricketing infrastructure present in our nation.”
Additionally, BCCI Vice-President Rajeev Shukla commented, “This financial reward honors the exceptional performances exhibited by the team throughout the tournament. The players demonstrated extraordinary poise under pressure, and their achievements serve as a source of inspiration for aspiring cricketers nationwide. Once again, the team has shown that Indian cricket is founded on a solid base of skill, mental resilience, and a winning mindset.”
During the tournament, India led Group A, advancing to the semi-finals where they triumphed over Australia, captained by Steve Smith. In the final match, India was tasked with chasing a target of 252 runs after Kuldeep Yadav and Varun Chakaravarthy each took two wickets, limiting Australia to 251 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs.
In pursuit of 252, India successfully scored 254 runs for 6 wickets in 49 overs, with Rohit contributing a significant 76 runs off 83 balls. KL Rahul also played a crucial role, finishing with an unbeaten 34 runs off 33 balls, leading India to a four-wicket victory.
