‘Apologize to Sydney Schoen’: Backlash Grows Against Jax Ulbrich Over NFL Draft Prank

Jax Ulbrich, the son of Atlanta Falcons defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich, was recognized as the individual who prank-called Shedeur Sanders and, potentially, Tyler Warren, during the recently finished NFL Draft. The 21-year-old expressed regret to the current Cleveland Browns quarterback in a statement shared on social media. Nevertheless, fans were outraged, urging the Berry College student to apologize to Sydney, daughter of New York Giants general manager Joe Schoen, who had been wrongly and baselessly accused of prank-calling Sanders.

Shortly before the draft commenced, Schoen's son shared highlights of Jaxson Dart on his Instagram account. On Thursday evening, the Giants secured the No. 25 overall pick and chose the Ole Miss quarterback.
ESPN's Peter Schrager disclosed that Schoen had connections to Ole Miss, mentioning that his daughter studies there.
“Daboll is fully familiar with him. Joe Schoen’s daughter is attending Ole Miss. Schoen has been involved with Ole Miss football for two years. This is something they’ve always kept in their plans; a player they have always appreciated. ”
Soon after, social media users claimed Schoen’s daughter was the one who prank-called Shedeur Sanders. However, on Sunday, it was disclosed that she was not responsible.
“Everyone needs to apologize to Sydney Schoen now,” one person commented on X, the platform formerly referred to as Twitter.
“Sydney Schoen deserves an apology,” another added.
“You MUST apologize to Sydney Schoen! ! You made that girl’s life HELL for 24 hours,” a third user tweeted.
Atlanta Falcons and Jax Ulbrich's statement
The Falcons confirmed that the prank call to Sanders originated from defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich's son. The team stated that the 21-year-old ‘accidentally came across Sanders' draft contact number’ which was on an “open iPad” while Jax Ulbrich was at his parents’ house.
Jax Ulbrich, for his part, issued an apology. In a post on social media, he stated: "On Friday night I made a tremendous mistake. Shedeur, what I did was inexcusable, embarrassing, and shameful. "
