India, Feb. 5 -- Ana Maria Markovic, frequently referred to as the "world's most beautiful footballer," has surprised her supporters by departing from SC Braga midway through the season. The 25-year-old Croatian forward garnered attention last month when she emotionally confessed, "I hate football," in a poignant video.

This revelation coincided with her farewell to her boyfriend, footballer Tomas Ribeiro, who recently joined Farense. Markovic has now opted for a personal change, mutually agreeing to terminate her contract with Braga.

In an Instagram post, she conveyed a heartfelt message reflecting on her brief yet impactful time at the club. "Sometimes things don't unfold as expected," she stated. "It was a brief but intense journey filled with highs and lows, allowing me to grow and evolve as a footballer. The highlight? Undoubtedly my teammates. Thank you for your support, camaraderie, and wonderful moments both on and off the pitch - you are incredible!"

She also expressed her appreciation to the club and its fans for their professionalism and encouragement, concluding on an optimistic note: "The journey continues, and I am eager for what lies ahead!"

Braga confirmed her departure in an official statement, expressing gratitude for her dedication and professionalism. Markovic made only four appearances for the club before her exit, marking a sudden conclusion to her time in Portuguese football.

The statement from Braga read: "SC Braga announces that the Club and Ana Maria Markovic have mutually agreed to terminate the contract that linked the two parties.

"The Croatian international participated in four matches for the Gverreiras do Minho during her inaugural season in Portuguese football.

"SC Braga thanks her for the dedication, commitment, and professionalism with which she has consistently represented the club and wishes her all the best in her future professional and personal endeavours."

The future for Markovic remains unclear, but her fans will be closely monitoring her next steps.
