Carlos Alcaraz, a four-time Grand Slam champ, lost his temper during the second set of his intense quarterfinal match against Novak Djokovic at the 2025 Australian Open. The drama unfolded when he got into a heated argument with the umpire over a let call.

This all went down while Djokovic was serving at 3-1 in the second set, trying to extend his lead after Alcaraz had taken the first set 6-4. The umpire called a let right away, but Alcaraz was fuming about the delay during his serves after the let. He acknowledged it was a let but felt the call came too late, after Djokovic had already paused.

"It was five seconds late. It's crazy," Alcaraz said after the chair umpire admitted she had made an error.

I get that it's late, but you paused when he did," shouted the 21-year-old for the third time as the audience at Rod Laver Arena started booing the Spaniard.

The commentator backed Alcaraz, stating, "He's upset because he believes the umpire was swayed by Djokovic halting at that moment."

"Pretty sure Djokovic isn't too pleased with Alcaraz bringing that up," added another commentator.

Alcaraz got broken early in the second set but managed to break back in the fifth game, leveling things up again.

In the first set, with the wind swirling in Melbourne, both players traded breaks in the first three games. Djokovic took advantage of Alcaraz's slow start, jumping to a 2-0 lead, but Alcaraz quickly bounced back, nailing a backhand winner after a long rally to break Djokovic's serve.

At 4-5, the 24-time Slam champ stepped off the court for a medical timeout. Meanwhile, Alcaraz, looking sharp, executed a fantastic drop shot to break Djokovic again, clinching the first set 6-4 after a tense 54 minutes.
