Actor and racer Ajith Kumar, along with his team, secured third place at the 12H Mugello race in Italy over the weekend. They celebrated their achievement on the podium by uncorking champagne, with Ajith’s teammates playfully showering him with it, which brought a smile to his face.

Ajith’s team shared a video capturing the moment when the Ajith Kumar Racing Team celebrated their podium finish. They posted on X (formerly Twitter), “Victory in style! Team @Akracingoffl shines at the 12H Mugello, Italy, celebrating a fantastic podium finish! Kudos to @fabian_fdx89, @mathdetry, and @BasKoetenRacing for their stellar performance on the track!”

The video features enthusiastic fans cheering for Ajith as he waves the Indian flag while standing on the podium with his teammates. Some supporters even donned custom-made T-shirts in his honour. After the winning teams displayed their trophies, they celebrated by popping champagne. Ajith’s team humorously drenched him in champagne, even pouring some down the back of his racing suit. Although he required assistance to open his bottle, once it was uncorked, he joyfully retaliated against his teammates.

His racing team shared images of their celebrations on Instagram, stating, “Another podium finish for Ajith Kumar Racing in Europe at the @24hseries 12h of Mugello. We secured P3 in the 992 AM category for our three lions. Our next destination is Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium for the 12h of Spa.” Additionally, they remarked, “The warm-up sessions have concluded. The true competition begins now.”

Ajith has recently made a comeback to the racing scene by establishing his own team and competing at a professional level. The actor and driver have experienced several crashes during practice sessions, including a notable incident in Spain where his car overturned. Despite these challenges, he has maintained his focus and has even chosen to step back in certain categories to prioritize his team's success.

In terms of his film career, Ajith was last featured in Magizh Thirumeni’s Vidaamuyarchi, which premiered in February of this year. The film, which included performances by Trisha Krishnan, Arjun Sarja, and Regena Cassandra in prominent roles, received mixed reviews. He is set to appear next in Adhik Ravichandran’s Good Bad Ugly, which will also feature Trisha. There are ongoing speculations regarding his involvement in a project directed by Dhanush, but official confirmation is still pending.
