Abhishek Sharma's Frustration: IndiGo Airlines' Staff Behavior Leads to Missed Flight

3 months ago | 5 Views

India's opening batsman Abhishek Sharma has expressed his frustration with IndiGo Airlines, claiming that the conduct of the personnel at Delhi airport led to him missing his flight. The 24-year-old stated that he arrived punctually at the designated check-in counter but was redirected to a different one, where he was informed that check-in had already closed.

In a strongly worded message on his Instagram stories, Abhishek lamented that his “one-day holiday has now been completely ruined.”

He elaborated in his statement: "I had an extremely disappointing experience with IndiGo at Delhi airport, and the conduct of the staff, particularly counter manager Ms. Sushmita Mittal, was entirely unacceptable. I arrived on time at the correct counter, yet they unnecessarily redirected me to another location, only to inform me later that check-in was closed, resulting in me missing my flight. I had merely a one-day holiday, which has now been entirely spoiled. To exacerbate the situation, they are providing no further assistance. This has been the most disappointing airline experience and the worst staff management I have ever encountered," Abhishek Sharma stated in his Instagram story.

Abhishek set to return in India colours

Abhishek has participated in the 50-over Vijay Hazare Trophy representing Punjab over the past two months, following his involvement with the state team in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. During his tenure in the former tournament, he achieved a remarkable streak of four consecutive matches with scores exceeding fifty. His notable performances include 66 runs off 54 balls against Mumbai, an impressive 170 runs off 96 balls in partnership with Prabhsimran Singh, contributing to a substantial 298-run opening stand against Saurashtra, 93 runs off 72 balls against Hyderabad, and 51 runs off 62 balls against Puducherry.

To date, he has played 12 T20 Internationals for India, accumulating 256 runs with a strike rate of 171.18 and an average of 23.27, including one century and one half-century. Abhishek is poised to return to the Indian national team as they prepare to host England for a three-match T20I series on home soil.
