After much deliberation, Raj Chakraborty’s high-voltage family drama Shontan will be dropped this Christmas. The film features Mithun Chakraborty, Ritwick Chakraborty, Subhashree Ganguly, Anashua Majumdar, and others. The first song from the film Thakur Thakbe Kotokkhon, composed by the renowned Jeet Gannguli, was dropped on Saturday. 

Sung by the legendary Amit Kumar alongside Jeet Gannguli himself, this track captures the essence of joy, togetherness, and the festive spirit. The music video beautifully portrays moments of celebration, harmony, and devotion, offering a glimpse into the film’s vibrant and emotional core. With its heartfelt composition and striking visuals, the song sets the perfect tone for the cinematic experience awaiting audiences this December.   

Slated for a grand release on December 20, Shontaan features a powerhouse ensemble cast, led by the legendary Mithun Chakraborty in a role that promises to leave audiences spellbound with its blend of gravitas and heartwarming depth. This multi-layered narrative promises to be an emotional rollercoaster, amplifying the stakes with its rich storytelling and powerful performances. The teaser shows an enraged father (Mithun) suing his son (Ritwick) for negligence of duty. Subhashree, a lawyer, takes up the father's case.   

This Christmas, there will be a series of Bangla releases. Like every year, Dev's film will release. This time, instead of his signature family drama with director Avijit Sen, the superstar will bring his action avatar in Khadaan with Jisshu U Sengupta. Besides, Pratim D Gupta's Chaalchito will also release at the same time. After her first success with Eta Amader Golpo, Manasi Sinha's 5 No Swapnomoy Lane will also release this Christmas.
