Shah Rukh Khan doesn't have any memorable songs after our fall out, says Abhijeet Bhattacharya

Abhijeet Bhattacharya openly discussed his conflict with Shah Rukh Khan, which led him to cease singing for the actor. During an appearance on Shubhankar Mishra’s podcast, the singer remarked that, in contrast to others who have had disputes with Khan, he never resorted to insults or derogatory references. Furthermore, he expressed his belief that the actor has not produced a notable song since their professional partnership ended.
Abhijeet's perspective on Shah Rukh Khan.
Seventeen years have elapsed since Abhijeet last lent his voice to a Shah Rukh Khan film, despite having delivered numerous hits such as "Tumne Jo Mujhe Dekha" from "Main Hoon Na" and "Chaand Taare" from "Yes Boss." The singer expressed that Shah Rukh could have reached out to him, not to offer an apology, but to extend a gesture of reconciliation.
He remarked, “I am older than him; he could have approached me for a hug. I did not anticipate an apology, but he could have said, ‘It’s all good, let’s collaborate again.’ However, people tend to overlook me. I was not angry; I felt hurt.”
Abhijeet also compared his relationship with Shah Rukh to that of a married couple, noting that despite their disagreements, they are inherently compatible. He acknowledged, however, that they have never shared a personal bond beyond their professional interactions. When questioned about his previous comment that “Shah Rukh was a superstar until I was singing for him,” the singer initially refuted it but later conceded that his words had been misinterpreted.
He further asserted, “After I made that statement, ‘Lungi (Dance)’ was released… naturally, I would not sing that. However, reminds me of any song of his that remains popular after I, Udit (Narayan), and (Kumar) Sanu sang for him. ‘Chak De India’ does not represent a typical Shah Rukh album, and the recent songs do not compare to ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai,’ ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge,’ ‘Darr,’ or ‘Yes Boss.’ It is not the same anymore.”
Abhijeet discusses the remix of "Levitating" by Dua Lipa.
Following Abhijeet's son, Jay Bhattacharya, expressing his discontent over the audience's focus on Shah Rukh Khan rather than his father during Dua Lipa's performance of the remixes "Levitating" and "Woh Ladki Jo" at her concert in Mumbai, Abhijeet himself criticized Dua Lipa for failing to acknowledge his contribution to the song in an interview with News18. However, he also stated that he is indifferent to her identity and whether she gives him credit for the mashup.
