Chhaava Overview
Chhaava, directed by Laxman Utekar and produced by Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Pictures, dives into the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the second ruler of the Maratha empire, who reigned from 1681 to 1689. This epic film features Rashmika Mandanna as Yesubai Bhonsale, Divya Dutta as Sambhaji's stepmother Soyarabai, and Akshaye Khanna as the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. With the trailer set to drop on January 22, 2025, the new posters are definitely building up the excitement.
Recently, the film stirred up some controversy when certain groups criticized the decision to have Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj dance in the movie, arguing that he never did such things in real life. Following advice from politician Raj Thackeray, who suggested that Laxman Utekar cut the scene featuring Vicky Kaushal dancing as Sambhaji Maharaj, Utekar agreed and removed it from the final edit.
Chhaava is hitting theaters on January 22, 2025, and it's all set to premiere on the big screen on February 14, 2025.
