Meiyazhagan, the family drama which stars Karthi and Arvind Swami in the lead roles, is one of the most-awaited Tamil films of 2024. The C Prem Kumar directorial is gearing up to have its grand release on September 27, 2024. Ahead of the film’s theatrical release, the cast and crew members, including Karthi, Arvind Swami, and producer Suriya came together for the grand audio launch event, which was held in Chennai recently. Interestingly, legendary actor Kamal Haasan has turned playback singer yet again, for Meiyazhagan.

Kamal Haasan turns playback singer for Meiyazhagan

After the Meiyazhagan audio launch event which was held in Chennai on Saturday, August 31, 2024, the makers unveiled the film’s soundtrack on social media. The playlist consists of six unique numbers, and two of them are sung by none other than the legendary actor, Kamal Haasan. The legendary actor’s sili number, titled ‘Yaaro Ivan Yaaro’, is composed by Govind Vasantha, and penned by Uma Devi. The Vikram actor has also sung ‘Poraen Naan Poraen’, along with Vijay Narain.

Meiyazhagan soundtrack

The upcoming family drama, which marks Karthi’s first collaboration with both director C Prem Kumar and actor Arvind Swami, consists of six songs. Karthik Netha penned four songs, while Uma Devi turned lyricist for two songs, in the film. From the soundtrack, it is safe to assume that Meiyazhagan is going to be a complete treat for the cinephiles, who are eagerly waiting to watch a fulfilling family drama with powerful performances.

All about Meiyazhagan

As per the reports, Karthi is set to play the titular character Meiyazhan in the C Prem Kumar directorial, which star Arvind Swamy in a pivotal role. Sri Divya appears as the female lead in the film. Raj Kiran, Devadarshini, Sriranjini, Jayaprakash, Ilavarasu, Karunakaran, Saran Shakthi, Rajkumar, and others play the supporting roles. Govind Vasantha is composing the songs and original score. Mahendiran Jayaraju and R Govindraj handle the cinematography and editing, respectively. Meiyazhagan is bankrolled by Jyotika and Suriya under their home banner, 2D Entertainment.
