The title song of the film Loveyapa, featuring Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor, has been officially released. While the track is expected to be a lively and eccentric piece, it ultimately does not make a significant impact.
Song released
The music video for the song was shared on Instagram on Friday, accompanied by a caption that stated, “#Loveyapa title track featuring #JunaidKhan and #KhushiKapoor is now available. This is an ideal love song that will resonate with the Gen-Z audience! The love anthem of the year is here! Love is in the air! Celebrate this Valentine’s season with #Loveyapa, set to release in theatres on 7th February 2025.”
Khushi Kapoor also shared the song on her Instagram account, commenting, "Babu Shona karte-karte ho gaya dimag ka Bhajiyapa? Well, this is the beginning of Loveyapa!”
The song is performed by Nakash Aziz and Madhubanti Bagchi.
The music video, featuring the lead actors Khushi and Junaid, illustrates the complexities of contemporary romance, characterized by awkward, clumsy lyrics and vibrant, juvenile visuals reminiscent of subpar music videos from the early 2000s.
The track fails to resonate effectively. The lacklustre effect of the title song has prompted numerous individuals to question whether the film will prove to be any more impressive.
"Is this song for real?" inquired one user, while another commented, "This is cringeworthy." A further remark stated, "What even is this song?" One individual expressed, "What on earth is this?"
"What is this awkwardness?" questioned another user, with one more adding, "This was the final straw."
About the film
On December 26, Phantom Studios announced the film via their Instagram account. They unveiled a poster indicating that Khushi Kapoor and Junaid Khan will collaborate on this romantic drama. The film is scheduled for theatrical release on February 7, 2025, and is directed by Advait Chandan.
This project represents Junaid's entry into the romantic comedy genre following his performance in Maharaj. Set against the backdrop of contemporary romance, the creators have described the film as a “heartwarming tale enriched with unforgettable performances, lively music, and breathtaking visuals.” It is reported to be a remake of the acclaimed 2022 Tamil film Love Today.
