Jaat's Debut Single

Jaat's Debut Single "Touch Kiya," Starring Urvashi, Falls Flat

The highly anticipated debut single from Jaat, titled “Touch Kiya,” was expected to be the quintessential party anthem. With Thaman S providing the beats and vocals from Madhubanti Bagchi and Shahid Mallya, it seemed poised to become a chart-topping hit. However, the unexpected twist came in the form of Urvashi Rautela, and the party, unfortunately, never materialized.

Urvashi's performance resembled an attempt to execute the "moonwalk" while wearing flip-flops—confusing, awkward, and somewhat uncomfortable to observe. Her exaggerated makeup appeared as if it were vying for a part in a 1990s Bollywood film, and her dance moves? They were more perplexing than impressive, leaving viewers wondering, “What is she doing?” It seemed as though she interpreted the song as an interpretative dance piece, neglecting to inform the rest of the team.

While the song's rhythm was solid, Urvashi's effort to match its energy felt as if she were performing in an alternate reality where being cool was not a requirement. It was as if she took the advice to “dance like nobody’s watching” as a challenge, ensuring that everyone was regretting it instead. Her attempts to inject glamour into the performance were so contrived that they might have required a stunt double of their own.

Ultimately, while Jaat may still present an action-packed narrative, this inaugural single serves as a reminder that not everything that shines is valuable—sometimes, it’s merely glitter accompanied by poor choreography. Better luck next time, Urvashi. Perhaps a more understated approach would be beneficial.
