Everybody who is a 90s kid and a Shahid Kapoor fan knows what Ishq Vishk and the title track mean. He was the ultimate chocolate boy and Ishq Vishk was core him, being roamtic and giving us fuzzy feels. Ishq Vishk Pyaar Vyaar was the song that made us see the Shahid we already knew from his music video, Aankhon Mein. Now, since the movie is back with a sequel, so is the song. The Ishq Vishk Rebound track is the revised version for this generation and thankfully, the original track is not completely ruined. Rohit Saraf’s part in the song, especially, works pretty well.

Ishq Vishk Pyaar Vyaar, reloaded

Ishq Vishk Pyaar Vyaar features Rohit Saraf, Jibraan Khan and Pashmina Roshan. Out of them, Rohit’s lines on the track are the highlights. They retain the essence of the original song. This track is sung by Sonu Nigam (the singer came back for this version too). Nikita Gandhi’s voice struggles to fit in with Pashmina Roshan’s. The rap by Mellow D doesn’t always work. Rochak Kohli catches the beat of the track and thus, this composition is something that is perfect for a club/pub setting. Vijay Ganguly has stepped in for choreography this time around and as one can expect, that becomes the highlight of the song (point in case, Student of The Year’s Disco Deewane).

The original song

Ishq Vishk Pyaar Vyaar was originally crooned by Kumar Sanu and Alka Yagnik. It was composed by Anu Malik (in case you couldn’t guess with the tunes and how it was originally crooned). Sameer was the lyricist of the original track, and Ahmed Khan was responsible for Shahid’s hookstep back in the day.

About Ishq Vishk Reloaded

Directed by Me Vasantrao helmer Nipun Avinash Dharmadhikari (the original was helmed by Ken Ghosh), Ishq Vishk Rebound, as the name suggests, touches upon rebound relationships (which was also the case with the original movie, but wasn’t that openly spoken of back then). The film also stars Naila Grrewal, who is paired opposite Rohit. Ishq Vishk Rebound also stars Kusha Kapila, Supriya Pilgaonkar, Akarsh Khurana, Shilpa Vishal Shetty, Shataf Figar, Anita Kulkarni and Sheeba Chadda, and will release in theatres on June 21.
