Farah Khan's Dance Dilemma: Junaid Khan's Performance Axed in Loveyapa
2 months ago | 5 Views
Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor are poised to embark on their theatrical debut in the romantic drama Loveyapa. During a recent discussion with Bharti Singh and Harssh Limbachiyaa on their YouTube channel, Junaid shared an anecdote about how Farah Khan ultimately decided to discontinue his dance lessons and even omitted his segment from a particular song.
When Farah gave up on Junaid
Junaid and Khushi humorously remarked that they do not require glycerin for their dance sequences, as they find themselves in tears simply by observing the choreographer. Junaid then reminisced about an incident during the filming of a song in Loveyapa, where Farah Khan opted to eliminate his dance segment.
He recounted, "Farah ma’am decided to cancel our dance. During the rehearsals, her assistants instructed us on the choreography. However, upon witnessing my performance, she chose to retain only Khushi’s dance and remove my part. She asked me to perform in front of her, observed me, and remarked, ‘Tujhse nahi hoga, tu chalke aa. Khushi se dance hoga, tu baithke dekh isko’ (You won’t be able to do it, just walk over. Khushi will dance, you just sit and watch).”
Junaid further confessed that he is "not skilled at dancing" and mentioned, "I had to perform Garba in Maharaj. I practised for ten weeks, dedicating four hours each day. If you observe me in the film, I appear quite thin—it’s all thanks to Vaibhavi Ma’am’s (choreographer Vaibhavi Merchant’s) expertise. Shweta Ma’am removed everything from that song. I didn’t look good in it, and she didn’t retain even one mid-shot of mine. She only included wide-to-close shots, which is why I appeared favourable.”
For those unfamiliar, Farah Khan choreographed the romantic track Rehna Kol in Loveyapa. The song, performed by Jubin Nautiyal and Zahrah S. Khan, showcases a distinct dance sequence featuring Khushi, while Junaid is primarily seen admiring her in the music video.
