About a week ago, the trailer of Stree 2 – starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao in the lead roles, was released. And now, the first song of the movie is out. Titled Aaj Ki Raat, this entertaining dance number features actress Tamannaah Bhatia in a sizzling avatar. Stree 2, backed by Jio Studios, is slated to be released on India’s Independence Day i.e. August 15, 2024.

This meet of the two pretty women is trending online. Let us remind you that Shraddha is the second most followed Indian actress on Instagram with about 90.5 million followers, while Tamannaah Bhatia has over 25 million followers alone.

What was in the Stree 2 trailer?

The voiceover in the Stree 2 trailer introduces the audience to "Sarkate," a new ghoul that resembles a headless Sleepy Hollow creature and gallops around on a horse. The main group of friends, Vicky, Jana, and Bittu, call upon the enigmatic persona of Shraddha Kapoor from the first movie in order to defeat this new adversary. She flips around and dives into the trailer, helping the three friends and the sage Rudra take down the Sarkate.

Stree 2, directed by Amar Kaushik, is a follow-up to the explosively successful first movie, which brought in close to Rs 200 crore globally in 2018. Since then, Maddock Films, the producers, have built a whole shared universe of films around it. Munjya, the sleeper hit that earned Rs 130 crore globally, is the most recent addition.
