Rajkummar Rao delighted his fans with the revelation of his upcoming film, Maalik, last year. The initial poster was unveiled on social media platforms. Directed by Pulkit, the film is produced by Tips Films and Northern Lights Films. Recently, the theatrical release date for the movie was disclosed. Furthermore, it has been reported that Huma Qureshi has reunited with Rajkummar Rao for this project, Maalik.

Huma Qureshi's Maalik cameo details

Huma Qureshi is set to appear alongside Rajkummar Rao in the film Maalik, following her role in Monica, O My Darling. Reports indicate that the actress filmed a dance sequence for this crime drama in 2024. According to Mid-Day, Qureshi's role in the movie is limited to a cameo appearance.

In the narrative, Rajkummar's character and his crew receive information indicating that their target is present at a nearby bar. They proceed to the establishment for a quick operation. It is at this location that Huma is showcased in a performance. The choreographer has crafted a raw and earthy dance sequence reminiscent of "Chikni Chameli" from Agneepath [2012], as reported by a source to the tabloid.

Additionally, the report indicates that the storyline of Maalik is set against the backdrop of Allahabad and Lucknow. The song was allegedly filmed on a constructed bar set. The composition of the song is attributed to Sachin-Jigar, while the choreography was executed by Vijay Ganguly. This dance number featuring Huma is anticipated to occur at a pivotal moment in the film.

Produced by Ramesh Taurani and Jay Shewakramani, the film Maalik is set to be released in theatres in June. Starring Rajkummar Rao, it is scheduled to premiere on June 20, 2025. Tips Films recently unveiled a new poster on Instagram, accompanied by a caption that stated: "Maalik is coming to rule the entire state and country! rajkummar_rao in and as Maalik In Cinemas on 20th June, 2025 (sic)." It is anticipated that Manushi Chhillar will also feature in this film.
