Kiccha Sudeep, who recently appeared in the film Max, released on Christmas 2024 and achieved the status of the highest-grossing film of the year in Kannada cinema, is preparing to commence filming on a long-anticipated project. Sudeep had previously revealed that his next venture following Max would involve a collaboration with Anup Bhandari, the director of Vikrant Rona. He recently shared on X that the new project, titled Billa Ranga Baashaa, is set to begin production in the second week of March.
Billa Ranga Baashaa represents Anup's most ambitious endeavour to date, set two centuries into the future. Reports indicate that Anup and Sudeep are considering presenting the narrative as a two-part saga, for which they have reportedly secured 4 acres of land on the outskirts of Bengaluru to construct sets for the film's production. Initially, the film was to be produced by Sudeep alongside Manjunath Gowda, the creator of Vikrant Rona; however, production responsibilities have now transitioned to PrimeShow Entertainment, known for films such as HanuMan and Darling. It is anticipated that Sudeep’s Kichcha Creations will also have a financial interest in the project, similar to its involvement with Max.
Currently, Sudeep is engaged with the Celebrity Cricket League, serving as the captain of the Sandalwood team, the Karnataka Bulldozers, which includes Anup as a member. The team has already completed 3 of its 4 group stage matches and is leading the points table, ensuring a place in the semi-finals scheduled to take place in Mysuru on March 1. Additionally, the actor is enjoying the accolades following the simultaneous premiere of Max on both television and OTT platforms.
On February 15, shortly after Sudeep and his team achieved their third consecutive victory in the Celebrity Cricket League, his fans were further delighted by the release of the film Max on Zee5 in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam at 7:30 PM. Simultaneously, the original version was broadcast on Zee Kannada, providing audiences with multiple viewing options for the Vijay Kartikeyaa-directed thriller.
