It may appear that Natsuko possesses an advantage due to her familiarity with the narrative of her beloved “A Tale of Perishing.” However, the situation is far more complex than it initially appears. In Zenshu Episode 2, Elder Baobab, the prophet of Last Town, determined that Natsuko should align herself with the Nine Soldiers as she grapples with her journey back home. Shortly after this decision, she came to the sobering realization that even greater challenges were imminent, placing everyone in significant peril.

On January 12, MAPPA Studio unveiled the preview for Zenshu Episode 3, entitled “Destiny.” The teaser is once again narrated by Unio, the “cool and handsome unicorn,” who is a member of the Nine Soldiers and the esteemed companion of the legendary hero Luke Braveheart. The preview suggests a fateful meeting with a captivating lady, concentrating exclusively on the potential developments awaiting Luke. In the meantime, Natsuko sheds her previous despondency, embracing the essence of the beloved anime saga into which she has been drawn.

The esteemed studio outlines the narrative as follows: "Following her high school graduation, Natsuko Hirose embarks on her journey as an animator. Her innate talent rapidly blossoms, leading her to make her directorial debut in a short span of time. Her inaugural anime achieves tremendous success, igniting a cultural phenomenon and establishing her as a promising genius director. Her upcoming endeavour is a romantic comedy film centred on the theme of first love. However, due to her lack of personal experience with love, Natsuko finds it challenging to grasp the essence of first love, which hinders her ability to develop the storyboard and brings the film's production to a halt."

The new original anime project features a prominent cast, including Anna Nagase, known for her roles as Nagisa Funami in Blue Box and Harley Quinn in this year's Suicide Squad ISEKAI, who voices the lead character Natsuko Hirose. Additionally, Kazuki Ura (Yoichi Isagi in Blue Lock) lends his voice to Luke Braveheart, Rie Kugimiya (Happy in Fairy Tail) portrays Unio, Minori Suzuki (Rosina in Ascendance of a Bookworm) voices Memmeln, and Akio Suyama (Ichori Ogami in Sakura Wars) takes on the role of QJ.

The opening theme song will be performed by BAND-MAID and titled “Zen,” while the closing theme for the ZENSHU anime episodes will be “Just As You Are” (literal translation) by Sou.

Following the first ZENSHU episode premiere on Sunday, January 5, 2025, new entries will continue rolling out weekly. Its official X/Twitter page already established that weekly episodes will be released at 11:45 pm JST in Japan (until further revision, if any).

TV Tokyo has been designated as the primary Japanese broadcast channel for the new MAPPA series, as stated on the anime's official website. The episodes are scheduled to commence airing on Sunday, January 5, 2025. Additional networks, including BS TV Tokyo and AT-X, will begin broadcasting the series at subsequent dates.

In select regions, Amazon Prime Video has secured the streaming distribution rights. Consequently, platforms such as ABEMA Premium and Anime Store will also provide streaming access to the series.
