Nitesh Tiwari's upcoming film Ramayana, featuring Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Yash, Kunal Kapoor, Sunny Deol, Lara Dutta, and more, is generating a lot of buzz. The movie is set to hit theaters in two parts during Diwali in 2026 and 2027. According to a recent report, Yash's character Raavana will face off against Kunal Kapoor's Lord Indra in an intense action scene.

According to ETimes, Yash and Kunal Kapoor, who are set to portray Raavana and Lord Indra, will clash in an epic action scene. Yash is kicking off his filming this week. The site also mentioned that a key highlight of the movie will be an intense showdown between Lord Indra and Raavana.

This thrilling action unfolds after Raavana gains immortality through intense penance and takes control of the three realms: earth, heaven, and hell. It's a crucial point in Raavana's ascent, where he dares to confront and triumph over the gods, including Lord Indra, to assert his dominance. The portal also hinted that the action scenes will be a visual feast, featuring massive sets, advanced visual effects, and complex stunts. It will be exciting to watch Yash and Kunal go head-to-head as Raavana and Lord Indra in the Ramayana.

Ranbir Kapoor is set to take on the role of Lord Ram, with Sai Pallavi as Sita. Yash, known for his work in KGF, will play Raavana, while Kunal Kapoor will step into the shoes of Lord Indra. Additionally, Sunny Deol and Lara Dutta are said to be playing Lord Hanuman and Kaikeyi, respectively. 

Is Ranbir Kapoor set to start filming Ramayana: Part Two in May?

According to a report from Mid-Day, Ranbir Kapoor, who portrays Lord Ram, is set to start filming for Ramayana: Part Two in the first week of May. Currently, he's occupied with Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Love & War, but he plans to balance his time between both projects.

At the Red Sea Film Festival 2024 in Jeddah, Ranbir shared his thoughts on playing Lord Ram in Ramayana. He mentioned, "I've wrapped up shooting for Part 1 and will begin Part 2 soon. Being part of this story is such an honor for me. It’s a dream come true. This film encompasses everything, showcasing the essence of Indian culture—family relationships and the dynamics between husbands and wives."

In other news, Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana Part 1 is set to premiere in theaters on Diwali 2026, with the second part following on Diwali 2027.
