Years after they worked together on Ocean’s film series, George Clooney and Brad Pitt reunite for Wolfs, an action comedy directed by Jon Watts. The film was meant to be in theatres on September 20, with a wide release, much like Fly Me To the Moon, Killers of the Flower Moon and Argylle.

But we are now told that this is going to rather limited and that Wolfs may not even make it to some countries. But that’s because the streaming date is not far off. The Apple Original Films production will head to Apple TV+ only a week later on September 27. As per the initial plan, Wolfs would have headed to some OTTs 45 days after the theatrical release on TVOD and much later on Apple TV+
George Clooney is a fixer, Jack, with a very specific skillset – make ‘problems’ disappear. He gets called to a woman’s apartment, where a crime has taken place, and all evidence of the same has to be covered up. There’s no one who can do what he can do, he says, as he gets to work. But then, they get interrupted by a second knock on the door and in walks Brad Pitt (Nick), who, as it turns out, is also a fixer, with the exact same job profile.
Interestingly enough, both men have the same handler and are then forced to work together. Just as they prepare to dump the dead body, they realize that it isn’t as dead as was thought and is carrying a very heavy load of drugs. The clean-up job soon becomes a fight for survival.
Interestingly enough, even before the release of the film, a sequel has been announced. Wolfs also stars Austin Abrams, Amy Ryan, Poorna Jagannathan, Zlato Buric and Richard Kind, with both Clooney and Pitt serving as producers as well. The film will have its premiere at the Venice International Film Festival in early September.
