Bougainvillea out on OTT

Amal Neerad's mystery thriller film has made an earlier-than-anticipated debut on the popular streaming service Sony LIV. Initially scheduled for theatrical release on Friday, December 13, 2024, Bougainvillea premiered for streaming today, December 12, 2024, in the evening. The film, featuring Kunchacko Boban, is now accessible on the platform in five languages: Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi. Additionally, it can be streamed on OTT Play Premium.

The film, co-written by novelist Lajo Jose and director Amal Neerad, draws inspiration from the acclaimed novel, Ruthinte Lokam. Bougainvillea narrates the tale of Reethu, a woman afflicted with retrograde amnesia, and her husband, Dr. Royce Thomas, a medical professional. Their lives are dramatically altered when David Koshy IPS, a police officer, begins to suspect Reethu in connection with a series of missing women tourists. In the film, Kunchacko Boban portrays Dr. Royce Thomas, while Jyothirmayi takes on the role of Reethu. Additionally, Fahadh Faasil appears in a cameo as David Koshy.

Bougainvillea showcases performances by Sharaf U Dheen, Srindaa, Veena Nandakumar, Shobi Thilakan, Jinu Joseph, Athira Patel, Vijilesh Karayad, Nisthar Sait, among others in supporting roles. The film's music and original score were composed by Sushin Shyam. Anend C Chandran served as the director of photography, while Vivek Harshan was responsible for the editing. The production of Bougainvillea is a collaborative effort by the lead actors Jyothirmayi and Kunchacko Boban, under the banners of Amal Neerad Productions and Udaya Pictures.
