In January this year, popular streamer Netflix revealed its 2025 lineup of Tamil movie acquisitions, which featured two films from superstar Ajith – Vidaamuyarchi and Good Bad Ugly – alongside others such as Dragon, Retro, Thuglife, and more. The only question that remained was how long after their theatrical release these films would be available on the platform. Vidaamuyarchi, which premiered in theatres on February 6, was made available for streaming on March 3, following a 29-day window, whereas Pradeep Ranganathan’s Dragon was released on March 21, 26 days after its theatrical debut.

Good Bad Ugly headed to Netflix on...

If Netflix has been adhering to the on or before 30-days timeframe to feature these titles on its platform, it would be reasonable to conclude that Good Bad Ugly, which debuted on April 10, should likewise be available on the streamer within a comparable period. Although Netflix has not formally revealed the release date of Good Bad Ugly, there have been reports suggesting that the film will debut on May 8, 2025.

Also featuring Trisha Krishnan, Arjun Das, Sunil, Prasanna, Usha Uthup, Rahul Dev, Kingsley, Roadies Raghu, Pradeep Kabra, Harry Josh, KGF Avinash, Yogi Babu, Prabhu, Priya Prakash, Simran, Tinnu Anand, Sayaji Shinde, Jackie Shroff, and others, Good Bad Ugly is reported to have entered the Rs 100-crore club during its theatrical release, despite receiving mixed reviews.

Director Adhik Ravichandran’s movie was a tribute to fans from beginning to end, featuring numerous references to well-known Ajith films such as Amarkalam, Dheena, and Valee, along with snippets of songs from Vikram and Sakalakala Vallavan, the latter causing the creators to face a legal battle with music composer Ilaiyaraaja, who asserted that it was created without his consent.

In the movie, Ajith portrayed a transformed gangster, who is compelled to revert to his former brutal methods when his son encounters issues with a criminal organization in Spain.
