Siddhant Chaturvedi is seen in action in Yudhra in a time when Ranveer Singh has been cast as the new Don in place of Shah Rukh Khan. In a recent interview, Siddhant hinted that he wanted to work in Don 3 and even thought he was being approached for the movie, which eventually went to his Gully Boy co-star, Ranveer Singh. It is to be noted that Siddhant is long associated with Excel Entertainment, especially Ritesh Sidhwani. The collaboration began from Inside Edge. Although Ranveer has been cast in Don 3, is Siddhant also playing a role in the movie? Find out.
Siddhant Chaturvedi thought he was being finalized for Don 3
Shah Rukh Khan's Don and Don 2 had already released, and Siddhant, who was in talks with Excel Entertainment at the time, told Ritesh Sidhwani that he wanted to do an action film. Thus, Ritesh spoke to Farhan Akhtar, who met Sridhar Raghavan (the writer) for an idea. Given that it was Farhan, Siddhant automatically thought the script was for Don 3 and asked Ritesh Sidhwani for a role in the film. However, his bubble burst when he got to know the film wasn't Don, but in fact, Yudhra.
How did Yudhra eventually happen?
Even if not Don 3, Siddhant Chaturvedi wanted to test out for the part of Yudhra, he confirmed during his interview with News18 Showsha. It was at the time when the director Ravi Udhyawar just saw Siddhant as MC Sher in Gully Boy and wanted hints of him in Yudhra, too. At the time, the movie had a five-page script, but Siddhant wanted to do a full-blown action film and knew that Yudhra was it, so he grabbed the opportunity with both hands.
Don 3 update
Farhan had simply announced that Don 3 is happening with Ranveer Singh, and the news took social media by storm. Shah Rukh Khan fans were furious that the actor was being replaced in the franchise he took forward. Nonetheless, Ranveer received love, too, and a few were genuinely excited to see what the actor will bring to the table. The film has not gone on floors yet and is in the pre-production stage.
