We had earlier reported that actor Karthi will be collaborating with director Nalan Kumarasamy for a film titled Vaa Vaathiyaar. The makers on Wednesday, November 13, released the teaser of the film on social media.

Vaa Vaathiyaar teaser is out

Actor Karthi and filmmaker Nalan Kumarasamy have collaborated for the first time with the upcoming film Vaa Vaathiyaar. The teaser begins with Karthi in a checkered khaki uniform dancing in a crowd, as we catch glimpses of various characters from the film. 

Karthi seems to be enjoying the dance, as we see some drama and action sequences in the intercuts. Soon, he gets a call, as he breaks away from the crowd.

The upcoming project is backed by KE Gnanavelraja under his banner, Studio Green. Besides Karthi, the film also stars Krithi Shetty, Rajkiran, Sathyaraj, GM Kumar, and others. The technical crew of the upcoming film includes Santhosh Narayanan, who scores the music, with George C Williams cranking the camera. Vetre Krishnan is the editor and DRK Kiran is the art director.

The teaser of Vaa Vaathiyaar is expected to get played in theatres along with the Suriya-starrer Kanguva. Both the films are backed by the same banner. The plot of Vaa Vaathiyaar has not yet been revealed by the makers. A release date is yet to be announced.

Nalan, who served as a writer in the 2013 film Theeya Velai Seiyyanum Kumaru, made his directorial debut with the 2013 black comedy film Soodhu Kavvum. The film saw commercial success and critical acclaim. He has also helmed films like Kadhalum Kadandhu Pogum, X, a segment in the anthology Kutty Story, and served as a writer in Super Deluxe and Maayavan.

Meanwhile, Karthi is expected to make a cameo appearance in Kanguva. It will mark his first acting appearance alongside Suriya.
