The Disney+ wing of the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been thriving on stories of characters that step away from the traditional superheroes we’ve obsessed over in the feature film universe. WandaVision was one of the first shows that introduced us to the nature of the streaming branch of the MCU. It gave us Scarlet Witch and set the stage for a trilogy of shows, the second of which is Agatha: All Along. As we sit just a few days away from the release of the Kathryn Hahn-led show, the third installment in the trilogy is currently the Vision series, which was initially referred to as Vision Quest but has yet to receive an official title. It seems we might now know a bit about the plot.

Vision Series Plot Details

The Vision series has been one of the biggest mysteries. We’ve known for a while that the show is happening, but there haven’t been any concrete updates—except that it will serve as the third series in the WandaVision trilogy, with Agatha: All Along as the second show. According to a new update, however, the show is shaping up to be a reverse WandaVision. Here’s everything you need to know about this exciting new development.

As per reports circulating online, the Vision series is being described as a reverse WandaVision. The scoop comes from Alex Perez of The Cosmic Circus, who explains that the main focus of WandaVision was Wanda trying to cope with loss and attempting to escape her role as Scarlet Witch. Ultimately, by the end of the show, she has to embrace her true self. In contrast, the Vision series will begin where WandaVision left off, with Vision wanting to explore his roots.

“The way it’s been explained to me: a reverse WandaVision. In WandaVision, the main focus of the show was Wanda trying to find a way to cope with her situation by trying to escape her role as the Scarlet Witch, her reality, and live in a fantasy before ultimately coming to terms with it. This time around, Vision wants to dive deeper into his origins and his reality from the get-go, to fill the gaps in his memory, and then it’ll progress into more fantastical territory as the show goes on,” Alex said.

About the Vision Series

While there are still no concrete updates about the show, we do know one key detail: James Spader will return to voice Ultron, who will serve as the villain in the series and go head-to-head with Vision. However, Alex Perez has clarified that Ultron is not being positioned as a long-term villain. The series will center around Vision and will adapt elements from West Coast Avengers and Tom King’s Vision comic series.
