Viswam: Sreenu Vaitla scores yet another flop; Gopichand's bad run continues

Sreenu Vaitla was once a star director and made films with the likes of Mahesh Babu. But a string of flops pinned him down in his career. He was nowhere to be seen in Tollywood until People Media Factory backed him and powered his film, Viswam. Some big names from Telugu cinema played key roles in this film.
Gopichand Viswam's latest collection details
The action drama had Gopichand in the lead role and Kavya Thapar was the heroine. Viswam hit the screens on October 11, 2024, as a Dussehra special. Though the film was lapped up by a few sections of the masses, the result has been disappointing.
As the film was made on a budget of Rs 35 crore, Vishwam had to make at least Rs 25 crore to be in the safe zone. But that has not happened as Viswam has just made close to Rs 10 crore share to date. The makers are happy that the film landed in a safe zone thanks to the OTT deal.
But the sad part is that the distributors who bought the film will bear the losses. Sreenu Vaitla scores yet another flop with this film and needs to bounce back at any cost. On the other hand, Gopichand is also being trolled for selecting bad films one after the other.
Despite being in flops, he okayed Sreenu Vaitla's film and is paying the price. People Media Factory, the movie minting machine has spent so much on promotions and only attracted a few. The sad state is that several multiplexes have even removed the film from their screenings.
Though the team might feel they have made enough money from the film, the real truth is that Viswam has landed as yet another flop in the careers of Gopichand and Sreenu Vaitla. The reviews were dull and the most common complaint was about Vaitla's routine narration which has no novelty at all. The same outdated comedy was showcased in the film.
Gopichand has two more films in the pipeline but Sreenu Vaitla is not ready with any project as of now. The failure of Viswam will only cost him big time. Well, we need to see what he has in store for us in the days to come. Watch this space for more updates.
