2 months ago | 5 Views
Laila is the newest flick from Vishwak Sen, and it’s been getting a ton of hype leading up to its release. Vishwak Sen has been pretty confident about the film’s success, which has definitely sparked a lot of chatter. On top of that, actor 30 Years Prithvi stirred the pot with some controversial comments about the old Andhra Pradesh government, which just added to the excitement.
Laila wraps up as a total flop on OTT
Laila hit the scene with a wave of bad reviews and was yanked from theaters in just three days. Prime Video swooped in and snagged the streaming rights for a big sum, launching it on March 9, 2025. Sadly, the comedy didn’t catch on with audiences. Those who tuned in labeled it a cringe-fest, sparking a flood of memes poking fun at Vishwak Sen and raising eyebrows about how he ever greenlit the film.Aha grabbed the digital rights and even set a streaming date at first. But the film still hasn't dropped on the platform, leading to rumors that the OTT deal might have been pulled because of the film's poor reception. On the other hand, Prime Video is still showing Laila, but it hasn't really caught on, showing just how underwhelming its performance has been.
Laila won't be dropping on Aha on March 7, 2025
Aha is said to be planning to stream the film soon, and they’re currently in some last-minute talks about the OTT release. Once everything is settled, Laila will also be up on OTTplay Premium. The movie, directed by Ram Narayan, was the first Telugu film for Kannada actress Akanksha Singh, who took on a glamorous role. Sadly, Laila didn’t really help her career take off. A big comedic moment in the film was when Vishwak Sen dressed up as a woman to escape some goons, but instead of being a hit, it became the most mocked part of the movie.
In response to the criticism, Vishwak Sen apologized to his fans and promised to choose his future roles more carefully. It’ll be interesting to see if Laila can bounce back on OTT platforms soon. Keep an eye out for updates!
