On February 14, 2025, the day before Valentine's Day, two notable Telugu films, Laila and Brahma Anandam, premiered. Laila, which showcased the appealing Vishwak Sen, was a comedic adventure, whereas Brahma Anandam presented a coming-of-age family narrative with Brahmanandam and his son, Raja Goutham, in prominent roles.

Laila first weekend box office collections

Regrettably, both films debuted to underwhelming reactions and have faced challenges at the box office. The occupancy rates for each movie stayed below 40% throughout the weekend. Let us examine their earnings to date.

Laila is the first film in this discussion. The movie featuring Vishwak Sen has been deemed a significant failure, garnering only Rs 60 lakhs on Sunday. Consequently, the film's total earnings have reached a disappointing Rs 2.4 crore. Due to the negative word-of-mouth and unfavorable reviews, distributors have begun to withdraw the film from numerous screens.

Additionally, reports indicate that Laila is expected to be available on Prime Video within three weeks following its theatrical debut. Beyond its box office shortcomings, the film has faced extensive ridicule for its crude humor and offensive comedic elements. Vishwak Sen is also under scrutiny for opting for such a lackluster script.

Brahma Anandam falters at the box office

Brahma Anandam initially garnered a moderate response but faced challenges due to insufficient star appeal. Despite reasonable promotional efforts, the film could not maintain audience engagement. Nevertheless, the collections on Sunday showed a slight improvement compared to the first two days, with the film earning Rs 50 lakhs on that day, bringing its total to Rs 1.2 crore, ultimately categorizing it as a box office disappointment. The film's lack of significant emotional resonance contributed to its inability to resonate with viewers.

Both Laila and Brahma Anandam were pivotal for actors Raja Goutham and Vishwak Sen; however, they have regrettably compounded their difficulties.
