Upon the announcement of the cast for Vishnu Priya, heroine Priya Prakash Varrier garnered significant attention due to her viral wink in her debut film, Oru Adaar Love. The initial trailer was released in early February 2021; however, for reasons known only to the film's team, Vishnu Priya did not reach theaters until four years later, by which time audiences had largely forgotten about Priya and her iconic wink. For leading actor Shreyas K Manju, the son of esteemed producer K Manju, this film marked his second project following Paddehuli, arriving only after he experienced another box office disappointment with Raana.

Vishnu Priya on Amazon Prime Video

The film was released in theaters on February 21, 2025, and, similar to many Kannada films launched this year, it did not leave a significant mark. However, in contrast to the approximately 70 films that debuted in the first quarter of the year, Vishnu Priya has secured a digital distribution partner and is now accessible for streaming. As of April 11, 2025, Vishnu Priya can be streamed on Amazon Prime Video, making it the eighth film of the year available for online viewing, with six of those films hosted on Prime Video.

In 2025, Prime Video secured pay-per-view agreements for Choo Mantar, Nodidavaru Enantare, #ParuParvathy, Forest, Royal, and Vishnu Priya, indicating that any potential revenue recovery relies solely on the streaming minutes they accumulate. Over 60 films released in the first three months of the year have yet to be made available for streaming, adding to an extensive list of titles from previous years that also remain unavailable.

Vishnu Priya is a romantic drama set in the 1990s, revolving around a love triangle involving Vishnu (played by Shreyas), Priya (portrayed by Priya), and Balu (Nihal Raj Gowda). Initially intended to deliver a message to Balu, Vishnu encounters Priya, only to discover that she has fallen for him.
