Vineet Kumar Singh’s Near Miss: How He Lost Out on Starring in Luka Chuppi
1 month ago | 5 Views
Chhaava, the historical drama helmed by Laxman Utekar, has once again put Viineet Kumar Siingh in the spotlight. He took on the role of Kavi Kalash, a close friend and poet of Sambhaji Maharaj, played by Vicky Kaushal. In some recent chats, Viineet opened up about how this film finally brought him the success he had been chasing after he turned down the chance to be in Utekar's 2019 movie, Luka Chuppi, which eventually went to Kartik Aaryan.
Skipping Lukka Chuppi and letting a chance slip away
In a chat with Digital Commentary, the actor shared a story about almost missing out on a lead role in a movie because of a mix-up. He explained that it involved a film directed by Utekar, with a script from a friend of theirs. Viineet thought his buddy was just looking for his thoughts on the script, not actually pitching it to him.
Viineet thought people weren't interested in him because he was taking his time with things. But when he chatted with Utekar, it hit him that they were actually trying to offer him a role in the movie, which totally caught him off guard. He often shares scripts with his writing friends for feedback, so he just figured this was another round of critiques.
Viineet mentioned that when folks are too close, it can lead to misunderstandings, which can be pretty awkward. Rohan Shankar is the one who penned the script for the film.
Expensive guess
He mentioned that feeling awkward is just part of getting close to someone. Because of that, even his buddy couldn’t bring it up, and they missed their chance. The movie was called Luka Chuppi, but its original title was Mathura Lives. They wanted him to play the role of Kartik Aaryan.
Even though Mukkabaaz was a hit and the actor thought it would change his career, Viineet found himself without any roles. He reflected in the same interview that he had to take on whatever came his way just to cover the rent, and things didn’t turn out as he had hoped.
Revitalize your career with Chhaava
Viineet took to social media to share a heartfelt message after Chhaava was released and got great reviews for his performance. He wanted to express his gratitude to his fans and everyone who contributed to the film for recognizing his efforts.
