Recently, several reports emerged indicating that Rajkumar Hirani is set to venture into the OTT space by directing a new series. The production team has now officially announced that Vikrant Massey will be the lead actor in this project. The actor has arrived in Goa, where filming for the series has commenced.

Vikrant Massey begins shooting in Goa

An industry insider has indicated that Massey has commenced filming in Goa for the series directed by Hirani. The production in the coastal state is currently in progress; however, further details regarding the schedule have yet to be disclosed.

The talented Massey, who wowed the audience in 12th Fail and Sector 36, is set to embark on a series of thrilling ventures in the near future. 

Rajkumar Hirani’s perspective on OTT storytelling

Previously, in a discussion regarding his exploration of the OTT landscape, Hirani informed News18 that not all films are suited for narratives that require an extended format. The project he is currently engaged in was conceived during the pandemic. He will take an active role in the project as its showrunner. Hirani is particularly enthusiastic about the script and its progression, which brings him great joy.

The filmmaker conveyed his sincere intention to share his narratives. The medium is of no consequence to him; whether it is for OTT or television, if the story is lengthy, it should be produced and streamed.

Possible title and streaming platform

A source informed Filmfare that the showrunners are contemplating the title "Trojan" for the upcoming series, which is set to premiere on Disney+ Hotstar. However, a final decision has yet to be made.

The series incorporates comedic elements while addressing the issue of cybercrime. Currently, the limited information available about the storyline indicates that it revolves around two police officers—one portrayed by the traditional and classic Arshad Warsi, and the other by the contemporary and tech-savvy Massey. Additionally, it is understood that, in line with Hirani's style, the narrative will explore themes of friendship.
