Vikram's new Tamil movie, Veera Dheera Sooran, is set to hit theaters on March 27, coinciding with the release of Prithviraj Sukumaran's L2 Empuraan, which stars Mohanlal. In a recent press chat, Vikram expressed that he’s not concerned about competing with the Malayalam film and is actually hoping it breaks some records.

During the promotion of his film, Vikram was asked about the rivalry between Veera Dheera Sooran and L2 Empuraan. He responded with enthusiasm, saying, “Malayalam cinema is celebrated for its strong content. I believe Empuraan will make a significant impact across India. I want it to succeed, and every Malayali shares that wish. I'm a huge fan of Mohanlal, and Prithvi is a great friend of mine.”

Vikram also expressed his surprise at Prithviraj's directing skills, noting that he’s impressed by how talented he is as a director, despite being primarily known as an actor, similar to Dhanush. He remarked, “I hope this film sets new records for Malayalam cinema on a pan-Indian level.” He expressed his desire for audiences to embrace both films, stating, “Our film is also strong, and with both releases on the same day, I’m just hoping that Malayalis, who appreciate good content, will respond positively.”

Directed by SU Arun Kumar, Veera Dheera Sooran features Vikram, SJ Suryah, Suraj Venjaramoodu (marking his Tamil debut), Dushara Vijayan, and Siddique. There's also a prequel in the works, but filming hasn't started yet.

L2 Empuraan serves as the sequel to Prithviraj’s successful 2019 film, Lucifer. Written by Murali Gopy, it brings back familiar faces like Mohanlal, Manju Warrier, Tovino Thomas, and Indrajith Sukumaran, with new additions including Jerome Flynn, Abhimanyu Singh, and Nikhat Khan Hegde.

Both movies are set to hit theaters in various languages on March 27.
