Vikkatakavi is ZEE5's new show featuring Naresh Agastya in the lead role. Directed by Pradeep Maddali, the period drama is all set to stream on ZEE5 from November 28, 2024. We at OTTplay have learned that ZEE5 has spent a whopping ₹10 crore on its budget. This is a substantial amount, considering the OTT market, and it reflects the confidence the makers have in the story and director Pradeep Maddali.

The series is set in the late 1960s and boasts impressive visuals crafted by Shoaib, whose cinematography has been highly praised by those who previewed the series. Sources close to the project have revealed that the background score is another major highlight. 

Ajay Arasada composed the music, while Teja penned the story. Megha Akash plays the female lead, and her role is said to be pivotal in the series. Vikkatakavi revolves around a small village in Telangana where villagers mysteriously start losing their memories one after another. A quirky detective, played by Naresh Agastya, steps in as the titular Vikkatakavi to unravel the mystery.

Speaking about the series, director Pradeep stated that Vikkatakavi is one of the most advanced and technically sophisticated web series in recent times within the Telugu OTT space.
