The production company shared on X (previously Twitter) and Instagram that Jana Nayagan is set to hit theaters on January 9 next year. They posted, “Adiyum othaiyum kalanthu vechu vidiya vidiya virundhu vecha.. #JanaNayaganPongal. 09.01.2026 #JanaNayaganFromJan9.” The poster features Vijay in a white outfit, dancing amidst a vibrant crowd.

Fans were super excited to learn the film's release date. An enthusiastic fan shared on X, “One last raid by the Master of the Box Office!” Another fan noted, “It looks like, for the first time in a while, #ThalapathyVijay’s movie is actually being pushed back from its original date,” since the film was supposed to come out this October. The movie features Bobby Deol and Pooja Hegde in the leading roles, alongside Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj, Narain, Priyamani, Mamitha Baiju, Monisha Blessy, and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar in significant parts. The music for the film will be composed by Anirudh Ravichander.

As Vijay gears up to run in the 2026 Tamil Nadu elections with his newly established party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), this film is set to be his last. He confirmed this at a rally in February, stating that his 69th film will conclude his acting career, addressing critics who questioned his shift in focus.
