Family Star, the upcoming Telugu film starring actors Vijay Deverakonda and Mrunal Thakur in the lead roles, is set to release on April 5. Ahead of the release, the runtime and censor of the film have been revealed. Family Star will run for two hours and 43 minutes and has a U/A certificate with the censor board.

Family Star censor details

Marking the first time Vijay Deverakonda and Mrunal Thakur's first onscreen collaboration, Family Star is helmed by director Parasuram and backed by producer Dil Raju. As per the censor certificate, the film, which is touted to be a family entertainer, has been suggested a few cuts for derogatory words, by the censor board.

Mrunal plays the role of Indu in the film, a rich girl who enters the life of Govardhan, played by Vijay Deverakonda. The actor, recently at an event, thanked the Telugu audience for accepting her as their own and said, “No one can play Indu like me, and you will fall in love with her instantly.”

The film is shot by KU Mohanan and Gopisundar has scored the music. AS Prakash is the art director. Amazon Prime Video has bagged the OTT rights to the film and it will be available to be streamed in the first week of May 2024.

Comparing the upcoming film to Geetha Govindham, the actor said that Family Star will be like “Geetha Govindham on steroids”. Geetha Govindham is a 2018 romantic comedy starring Vijay Devarakonda and Rashmika Mandanna in lead roles.

It is to be noted that there are speculations that Rahsmika Mandanna will be doing a cameo appearance in Family Star. However, the makers have remained tight-lipped about her presence.
