Actor, composer, and producer Vijay Antony is poised to collaborate with director Arun Prabu Purushothaman on a forthcoming Tamil film. The title of the project, Shakthi Thirumagan, was revealed by the producers on Wednesday. This film will signify Vijay Antony's 25th role as the lead actor.

Vijay Antony, who recently appeared in the film Hitler, is set to star in an upcoming Tamil movie titled Shakthi Thirumagan, which evokes memories of the classic 1952 drama featuring Sivaji Ganesan. The first-look poster for the film was unveiled on Wednesday.

The poster showcases Vijay Antony seated and holding a gun, with a striking red background that features temple architecture. Shakthi Thirumagan is anticipated to be released in the summer of 2025. Directed by Arun Prabhu Purushotaman, the film will also be available in Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam. The cast includes notable actors such as Vaagai Chandrasekar, Sunil Kriplani, Cell Murugan, Trupthi Ravindra, and child actor Master Keshav, among others. The film is currently in the final stages of post-production.

In addition to his acting role, Vijay Antony will compose the music for the film, which is produced under his own banner, Vijay Antony Film Production. The editing is being handled by Raymond Derrick Crasta, while Shelley Calist is responsible for cinematography. Both technicians have previously collaborated with Arun Prabhu on his earlier works, Aruvi and Vaazhl.

Arun Prabu Purushothaman has directed two films to date: Aruvi and Vaazhl. Both films can be accessed on SonyLIV, and viewers with an OTTplay Premium subscription can enjoy them. Aruvi, released in 2017 and featuring Aditi Balan in the lead role, represents Arun's debut as a director. Produced by Dream Warrior Pictures, the film narrates the story of a young middle-class woman who challenges and critiques the consumerist and misogynistic views prevalent in contemporary society.

On the other hand, Vaazhl is a drama film from 2021, produced by the home banner of actor Sivakarthikeyan. Featuring performances by Pradeep Antony, TJ Bhanu, and others, Vaazhl explores the life of an IT professional who feels ensnared in the drudgery of daily existence, with his outlook transformed after an encounter with a woman at a wedding.
