Actor Ajith Kumar's film Vidaamuyarchi was released in theaters this month. This action thriller is directed by Magizh Thirumeni, marking his inaugural collaboration with Ajith Kumar. Although it has been previously reported that Netflix has acquired the post-theatrical streaming rights for the film, the streaming service has yet to disclose a release date for its OTT debut.

Vidaamuyarchi OTT release: Ajith Kumar’s film to stream very soon?

Vidaamuyarchi is a straightforward action thriller starring Ajith in the principal role. The film, directed by Magizh Thirumeni and produced by Lyca Productions, is based on the Hollywood movie Breakdown. After several delays, it was finally released in theaters on February 6.

Netflix has acquired the streaming rights for the film and is set to premiere it shortly. Although a specific release date has not yet been confirmed, it is anticipated that Vidaamuyarchi will be available on the platform by the end of this month or in the first week of March. The film received generally favorable reviews, despite being an adaptation. The cast features notable actors such as Trisha, Arjun Sarja, Regina Cassandra, Aarav, Nikhil Nair, among others, in significant roles.

Vidaamuyarchi day 14 box office collection

It has been two weeks since the premiere of Vidaamuyarchi. Although it is considered a star-studded film, it has only garnered Rs 79 crore from its theatrical release thus far. According to a report from Sacnilk, the film's opening day collections amounted to Rs 26 crore, but there has been a consistent decline in revenue, eventually dropping to single-digit figures.

The narrative of Vidaamuyarchi centers on a couple embarking on a road trip. When their vehicle breaks down, the husband arranges for his wife to travel with a friendly truck driver and his spouse, only to discover that she has gone missing. Despite the film's quality production and the absence of unnecessary star glorification, many fans expressed disappointment with its overly simplistic storyline.
