In 2025, actor Ajith Kumar's film Vidaamuyarchi was released. This action thriller, directed by Magizh Thirumeni, stars Trisha in the leading female role. Following its theatrical release, the film is now available for streaming on Netflix. It can be viewed in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi.

Vidaamuyarchi is inspired by the Hollywood film Breakdown. The plot centres on a couple on the brink of divorce who embark on one final road trip together. However, their journey takes a dark turn when their car breaks down, leading to a tragic incident involving a friendly couple they encounter. As the wife goes missing, the husband must undertake the search for her.

The film features notable performances from actors Trisha, Arjun Sarja, Regina Cassandra, Aarav, Nikil Nair, among others in significant roles.

Vidaamuyarchi is produced by Lyca Productions, with music composed by Anirudh Ravichander. Although the film received favourable reviews upon its release, it struggled to perform well commercially. The cinematography is handled by Om Prakash.

Ajith Kumar’s Good Bad Ugly release date

Following Vidaamuyarchi, Ajith Kumar is set to appear in the forthcoming Tamil film Good Bad Ugly. This project is both written and directed by Adhik Ravichandran, featuring Trisha in the leading female role.

The film is scheduled for release on April 10, coinciding with Dhanush’s Idly Kadai. Good Bad Ugly also includes performances by Prasanna, and Arjun Das, among others.

Recently, the producers of Good Bad Ugly unveiled the film's teaser, which garnered a positive response. The teaser introduces Ajith Kumar as a notorious character named Red Dragon, filled with numerous allusions to the actor’s past roles and films. The music for the film is composed by GV Prakash.
