About Vidaamuyarchi
Vidaamuyarchi narrates the story of a man engaged in a perilous quest to rescue his wife, who has been kidnapped by a menacing group in Azerbaijan. Filming commenced in 2023 and wrapped up in 2024, after which Ajith Kumar redirected his attention to his racing pursuits. Initially intended for a Pongal release, the film encountered several delays before finally premiering in theatres. It received a mixed response from both critics and viewers.
The Hindustan Times review remarked, "From the beginning, Vidaamuyarchi does not conform to the typical star-centric narrative. It lacks the dramatic flair commonly associated with commercial films featuring Ajith Kumar. Instead, it presents the tale of an ordinary man deeply in love with his wife, determined to rescue her."
With varied reactions thus far, the film's box office success in the upcoming days will be pivotal.
Ajith (53) stands as one of the most celebrated stars in the southern film industry, boasting a filmography of over 60 titles, including notable successes such as "Aasai," "Kadhal Kottai," "Citizen," "Villain," "Varalaru," and "Billa." Vidaamuyarchi also features Trisha, Arjun Sarja, and Regina Cassandra, alongside "Good Bad Ugly," which also stars Trisha.
