Vidaamuyarchi box office performance: Directed by Magizh Thirumeni, the film Vidaamuyarchi, featuring Ajith Kumar and Trisha Krishnan, premiered in theatres last Thursday to considerable anticipation. The report indicates that Vidaamuyarchi generated ₹1.25 crore on its eighth day of release, according to preliminary estimates. The film's total box office collections after eight days have reached ₹72.25 crore. With the upcoming release of Vicky Kaushal's Chhaava this Friday, it will be intriguing to observe how Vidaamuyarchi fares in its second week.

Following a strong opening day where it earned ₹26 crore net in India, Vidaamuyarchi experienced a decline in revenue during the weekdays. The film's earnings over the subsequent three days were ₹10.25 crore on Friday, ₹13.5 crore on Saturday, and ₹12.5 crore on Sunday.

Vidaamuyarchi narrates the story of a man engaged in a perilous mission to rescue his wife, who has been kidnapped by a dangerous group in Azerbaijan. Filming commenced in 2023 and was completed in 2024, after which Ajith Kumar redirected his attention to his racing career. Initially intended for a Pongal release, the film experienced several delays before finally premiering in theatres. It serves as a remake of the 1997 American film Breakdown.

According to a review from the Hindustan Times, Vidaamuyarchi is not characterized as a star-centric film. It eschews the dramatic elements typically associated with commercial mass hero films featuring Ajith Kumar. Instead, it presents the narrative of an ordinary man deeply in love with his wife, who is determined to rescue her.
