Vicky Kaushal's Transformation: 6 Months of Intense Training for Chhaava Revealed

Actor Vicky Kaushal is receiving acclaim for his role in Chhaava, in which he depicts Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. The biographical drama, directed by Laxman Utekar, has been performing well at the box office. The film's producers have recently released a compilation showcasing the extensive training the actor undertook for this role.
Vicky's preparation for Chhaava
On Tuesday, Vicky shared a collaborative post on Instagram with Maddock Films, detailing the six-month preparation process that took place behind the scenes. He began with the horse riding sessions, describing them as ‘extremely rigorous,’ which also included weapons training. The actor was observed practising action sequences alongside crew members. “Each day involved approximately 6-8 hours of training,” the actor noted.
He further mentioned that on most days, he would return home to discover new injuries on his body due to the intense action training required for the film. “The level of discipline that has entered my life is unprecedented,” Vicky remarked. He was observed diligently training between scenes, even while wearing makeup.
Vicky stated, “One thing was clear: I needed to significantly increase my muscle mass. Laxman sir contacted Dinu sir and informed him that he had found his Chhaava.”
Recently, the actor visited Babulnath Temple in Mumbai following the film's release, which surpassed the ₹100 crore milestone in its opening weekend. On his Instagram account, Vicky expressed his gratitude to fans for their enthusiastic response, saying, “I am seeing all your messages, calls, and the videos you are sharing about your experiences watching CHHAAVA… I appreciate it all. Thank you for your love… I am grateful to each and every one of you for honouring the legacy of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj.”
Chhaava is based on the Marathi novel Chhava by Shivaji Sawant and features Rashmika Mandanna as Yesubai Bhonsale, Akshaye Khanna as Aurangzeb, Diana Penty as Zinat-un-Nissa Begum, Divya Dutta as Soyarabai, Vineet Kumar Singh as Kavi Kalash, and Ashutosh Rana as Hambirrao Mohite.
