About the film

Laxman Utekar's directorial project, Chhaava, has been generating significant attention since its premiere on February 14. The film features a remarkable cast, with Vicky Kaushal portraying the historical figure Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, while Akshaye Khanna takes on the role of the emperor Aurangzeb. Additionally, the film includes notable performances from Rashmika Mandanna, Vineet Kumar Singh, Ashutosh Rana, Neil Bhoopalam, and Diana Penty in key roles. Despite receiving a range of reviews from critics, Chhaava has been met with considerable acclaim from audiences, who have expressed their appreciation for the film's storytelling and performances.

Vicky Kaushal remarked to ANI, “Portraying such a historical character demands a great deal of discipline, which can be quite challenging. If one is not accustomed to discipline, as I was, it becomes a formidable task, as this commitment spans one and a half to two years.” He further expressed, “I am pleased to state that this is the most challenging role I have undertaken thus far. I aspire to continue my growth, not only as an actor but also as an individual, with each role I embrace.” The film has also been designated as tax-free in Madhya Pradesh.
