Vettaiyan release date out
The team behind Vettaiyan, on Monday, announced the much-anticipated release date of the film. The film will be releasing on October 10. The film is all set to clash with Suriya-starrer Kanguva, which is also releasing on the same day.
Backed by Lyca Productions, the upcoming film is written and directed by TJ Gnanavel. Apart from Rajinikanth, the film features a star ensemble cast hailing from different languages, including Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Dushara Vijayan, Ritika Singh and others. Their roles are kept under wraps. Touted to be a cop thriller, the film has Anirudh Ravichander scoring the music.
The film is shot by cinematographer SR Kathir I.S.C, with Philomin Raj handling the edits. The stunts are planned by Anbariv duo and K Kadhir is the production designer. Vettaiyan marks the first time Gnanavel is working with Rajinikanth. The director had earlier helmed the critically acclaimed film JAI Bhim starring Suriya, Manikandan, Lijomol Jose and others.
More on Vettaiyan
While the makers have remained tight-lipped on the film’s story, Rana Daggubati in an interview gave us hints on what the film would be. Stating that Vettaiyan’s story is very unlike a usual Rajinikanth film, the actor said it is a story between the judiciary, police and entrepreneurial system. “It is quite a well-researched story and it is not a regular Rajinikanth film. I am very happy he chose a film like that and I could be part of it,” Rana had mentioned.
Meanwhile, after Vettaiyan, Rajinikanth will be working with director Lokesh Kanagaraj for a film titled Coolie. The film is produced by Sun Pictures banner. It has music by Anirudh Ravichander as well.
